What is the flexitank
The flexitank is an equipment that transforms a standard 20ft container into a tank for transportation of liquid products.
The volumes that can be loaded maintain between 16000lit and 24500 lit.

Commodities that need heating
Some commodities (like the fats and the palmoil) need to
be heated before the dischrging. In that case the hetaing pad set must be fitted prior to loading. Before the discharging the flexitank will be warmed up by supplying hot water. The heating time depends on the commodity and the ambience temperature.

How safe is the transportation with flexitanks?
Not every flexitank is safe. There are a lot of cheap flexitanks in the market, that carry a high risk for leakage. Therefore, the selection of the flexitank operator must be done based on QUALITY STANDARDS first.

The only risk for leakage is because of the flexitank?
No. A leakage can cause becaused the flexitank operator did not properly the fitting procedure. Also, many insidents happened because of errors and omissions of the shipper, during the loading. Again, it is important to cooperate with a RELIABLE AND QUALIFIED flexitank operator.

Is any container capable for transportation with flexitank ?
No. Only those containers that are less than 5 years old, odourless, clean and in excellent internal and external condition can be used. The container selection procedure is a very important job that must be done by certified flexitank operators.

Most of them yes. A prior confirmation for booking acceptance is required.

What is the maximum volume I Can load into a flexitank?
Usualy the maximum volume is 24000-24500 lit. About the payload the maximum weight is up to 24tn. But is also depends on the weight limitations that apply to the origin and destination countries.

Can I load as much as I want into a flexitank?
No. All flexitanks have a minimum and a maximum volume rate. Less or more volume that the indicated values can cause serious damage.

What is happening after flexitank's discharging?
The flexitank must be disposed to an authorized disposing company. The flexitanks are made of recycled matterials.

No. They are single use only.
